I don't have Marvin so I can't try this but I did test out Calibre's data server with Brave Browser just to download and it worked fine with the handful of books I tried. Brave's utility here is that it downloads files into an On My iPad file tree accessible by other applications. This is YACReader in my case which has a bulk import function. YACReader unfortunately does not use vanilla ODPS (and maybe not ODPS at all) so it won't sync directly to Calibre.

A less tedious but significantly slower option is to use Calibre's Connect to folder function to connect to a cloud storage directory as if it were a reader device. Slower because these have to sync up to the central servers and then back down to the iThing.
