No pressure to buy immediately, but I would be much more likely to go mindlessly buy a comic when I'm thinking of it rather than waiting on a sale (that I may miss altogether).

That's true, which is why I specified decade old comics. In general, collections of old comics go on sale. Individual issues not so much. Most of them aren't even remembered and are unlikely to be highlighted.
