Reckon that's intentional. If $0.99 was standard pricing (and with Amazon's minimum $0.30 cut, I don't see single issues going half that), there's no pressure to buy immediately.

The limited time sales are a good way to boost revenue and highlight select characters, series, imprints, etc. I tend to discover new stuff and typically binge buy during sales (like $100+). I probably wouldn't spend that much even over a year if the $1/issue and $5/volume was just regular pricing.

Apart from the featured sales, I expect there's gonna be another linewide sale come NYCC (October) and Thanksgiving anyway.
