Within an hour or so of seeing me reading on the Nook, my wife decided she wanted one too. We went back the next day and bought her one. We had to dive a ways because our local B&N was sold out. Sad how far Nook has fallen since those days.

Have you tried giving your friend an old ereader? I think heavy readers don't want an ereader until they actually use one.
