It's an alien conspiracy to rob us of our favourite treats.

For me it's Maggie Beer's Affogato ice cream - no longer made, and Morpeth Bakery bread - only available at the bakery (3 hour drive). I'm not sure that it's made in the 1847 bakery's wood fired ovens these days - so its probably not the same.

I get why the bread's harder to get, the Arnott family's main business these days is supplying raw materials and equipment to the 'artisan' bakeries that have sprung up in recent years.

But I don't get why the ice cream is no longer made, it seemed to 'go off the shelf' just as quickly as the other Maggie Beer ice creams. Maybe because it was unique, far as I know it was the only commercial Affogato Ice Cream available here. Or maybe the Affogato maker got another job. Or maybe some marketing guru thought it sounded too much like Avocado
