It took some arm twisting, a trip to Target to show my mother the Echo Dot 3 and then almost an hour for a Live Chat with Amazon (with two different reps) but they are going to allow me to return the refurbished Echo Dot 2 and credit me the amount it cost. And I will order them an Echo Dot 3. At first they were like you can trade it in for $5 off the cost. As I was sure my aunt paid more than $5 I insisted I would have her return it.
The Target website says they're all out for shipping and since the Kohls didn't stack with the 15% etc I'll just order it from Amazon direct.
