I'm still experimenting with mine, since yesterday my Forma stopped being able to connect using the supplied USB cord. (It did however with my old H2O cord I had handy.)
So far, my experiments lead me to believe that there's no problem with the Forma's port, but there may well be a problem with the supplied cord, at the standard USB end of the cord (not the other end which has the micro-usb reversible end which goes into the Forma). Forgive me if I'm not using the correct terms of art here.
In short I've discovered that if the standard USB plug is inserted into the computer USB port, or a charger port,
imperfectly, then no connection is made. But if you wiggle it a bit, bingo! If you wiggle it again, no joy! This behavior is consistent across a number of different ports I've tried.)
I can say this is the first time in my life I've ever had to wiggle a USB cord to get a device to work. But I'm thankful that in my case it only seems to be a cord issue.
But if as you say, you're having no consistency with
any cords, then that's a major issue and I'd return it too.
Edit. Just to me more precise, the wiggle needed is not at the cord itself, but right at the USB plug, where it seems capable of too much um wiggle room, left and right motion, when fully inserted (in a horizontally oriented usb port).
