The premium price on the Oasis would have to be the result of a tariff selectively applied to it as other electronics are competitively priced with U.S. prices once the exchange rate is factored in. This makes no sense.

Pure speculation on my part as to why Amazon wouldn't be more competitive there. Looking now I see the Paperwhite doesn't have a higher price. So I may be completely off-base with my guess. It is merely my "south of the border" impression that Canada is protective of their own. I'm not sure of another Canada based company to compare.
