Depends on the type of book you read. One recent purchase ( The Best and Lightest by The Editors of Food Network Magazine ) is 366.96MB. I like cooking and have a fair size collection of books in that category. These books tend to have many illustrations and so are massive in size. Sorting by size in calibre so the largest books in my cooking genre are on top, I could fit 29 of them into the free space on my KA1.

If you read manga, comics or other books that are collections of images, you run into the same issue. Hence the KA1 LE and the Amazon Paperwhite and Oasis 2 models with 32GB of memory.
