And that is exactly how I would expect the sort to work unless a mechanism like that used by calibre exists.

Thanks Davidfor, that makes sense. I don't expect to be able to change the way Kobo sorts, but I hope one day Kobo might use dynamic search too. At the moment, I've taken to browsing my books on my phone via Calibre companion, and then just using the search option to find them on my Kobo. Not the most seamless, but it works
