I want the Moto E (I have a 1st gen now and want to stay with this line), but am I being stupid to be dazzled by the gold case and the absence of Amazon's ads?

I do want to stay with the Moto line. The E is at its usual price; the G is a deal price. Specs seem roughly the same. Anyone want to weigh in?
Phone/tablet internal storage is kinda like closet space for me. Whatever is available gets filled up. I can make do with 8gig (tablet), I just need to be more ruthless in pruning unused apps. On 16 gig phone, I can leave apps installed that I might get around to using again someday. Fortunately, my current devices can take an SD card for music and audio books. I'd call the SD card my virtual attic, not as convenient as internal storage, and some items can't be moved there, but I'd miss the space if it wasn't there.
