ADDENDUM to my post #251:

It occurs to me that the free Open Access book that I mentioned may only be about the British navy, or at least have its focus on it.

As I mentioned to bfisher in my post just above this one, I don't have time to read and vet every ebook that I'm thinking about posting. However, I thought about the fact that it is published by Westminster University Press (I had never heard of it before; it has a total of two books in its Open Access catalog at the present time, but it looks like that's going to grow a lot in the near future), which I assume is in Great Britain somewhere, so the perspective of the book may be on Great Britain. We Yanks may not be mentioned much in the book.

Trivia: most everything that we hear about Henry VIII is negative. However, one very good thing that he did for Great Britain is to substantially build up her navy. His actions were one big reason that Britannia ruled the waves for some 400 or so years.
