The string is probably being properly quoted elsewhere in the script though, because it does in fact work and connect. I guess to prove or disprove that, you'd have to set up two aps that start with the same word, and verify that you can connect to either one.

Thank you for the report. Of the KSM wifi section, I would only use "wifi enable" and "wifi disable" with some confidence. The other things might work or not depending on circumstances like whether there are spaces in the ssid or the pw, or whether all characters used in the pw are available to the KSM keyboard. I think I will not improve on those parts of the wifi section, but will still not remove them, since some people might use them. Generally, I would recommend to use nickel to connect for the first time to a new network or to change the network. You could also try to use KOReader for this purpose.
