So, I thought, nothing to lose. I tried sideloading the Mark 3 edition of 4.3.8842, and -- I hope the Digital Gods aren't listening! -- so far, not a single lock-up. No hacks or patches, but to date it works fine. Huh! ;-)

You do know that 4.3.8945 is the latest firmware and you might want to give that a go.
