I don't usually post questions about streaming audio, but since you broached the subject, here goes.

Have any of ya'll had any experience using a software program (there are several out there, some of which I think are freeware or shareware) that supposedly record the sounds that come out of a computer? So, for example, if you have a free streaming audio that's not available as a free download, you can still save it on your computer.

And is there anyone knowledgeable about the legality of using these programs or downloading items that a website doesn't want you to be able to download, but only to stream?

I've wondered about both of those questions for quite some time, but never seen an answer to them (I know that there's bound to be a better thread for this question on MobileRead than this one, but I like you guys better ).
