I agree on this one. The theory was interesting, but I thought Atticus was a bit of a "Mary-Sue" character (or whatever they call the male version). Too smart, too smooth, too slick. He solved all the problems, diddled all the women. And yes, my impression was based on one book. I always mean to go back and try at least one more, but never do. Too many other books I actually *want* to read. But I really liked the sound of the story setup/world/concepts, so I was disappointed that I didn't like the first book more.
