May I suggest Prepaidphonenews.com as a resource for phones. On Sundays, the website owner lists all good phone deals and on which carrier they can be used, and where you can buy them. Most carriers let you bring your own device, as long as it works on their network.

I most definitely do. The phones I pick up are only used as media players. My current one is a Moto E2 (paid $10 last year) and it's used for audiobooks, music, and internet radio. I'll never use it as a phone, though many people will.
On the
specs page for these phones, I list the carriers. I started doing that
last year.
