Frankly, I'm having trouble figuring out who has performed them. It appears to be an orchestra in Vienna. (Wikipedia)) at the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna. The Palace is a former imperial summer residence, located in Vienna.
The free pieces are by composers Johann Strauss Vater and Johann Strauss. The piece by Vater is Radetzky Marsch - Op. 228, which runs 2 minutes and 29 seconds. I can't say that I ever remember hearing anything about this composition, but it sounds beautiful. The piece by Strauss is Walzer "An der schonen blauen Donau" - Op. 314, a 9 minute, 58 minute piece, that sounds familiar even to my uncultured ears.

I don't know yet how often this website changes the free downloads that they make available, but I'll plan to monitor the website frequently until I can figure out how they do things. |
