I just finished The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. I did not like it. I have never disliked a heroine as much as I do Lucy. First off there is no character growth at all. The secondary characters are used as props. Third the heroine acted like a five year old and she's 28. I found her deranged.
My most problems stem from the author portraying being five foot as severely handicap. As one of the vertical challenge I was really annoyed at all the little and short comments. The author made Lucy sound as tiny as a little kid. It seemed all others treated her as a little person.
There was also some fat shaming going on.
