These Old Shades is one of my favorites too, especially because it tees up Devil's Cub, which is also one of my favorite Heyer books. I sort of bounce back and forth between which of the two is my favorite. (Although my absolute favorite Heyer title is The Unknown Ajax, which I can reread like once a year and still not be bored...)

It's fun to note some of the differences in the background settings between Shades and Devil's Cub since they are separated in time by quite a few years.
