I believe this is an accurate statement. Kobo has demonstrated a willingness to give folks what they want, and surprise them with welcomed features. As you said, the capacitive screen and comfort light are in the early stages for them, so it's understandable it's not as refined as it could be and probably will be with the next iteration. Amazon, on the other hand, insists on pushing out high-priced products (still only offering 6" screens) and touting how premium the reading experience is, but when you get "your" device, that is often not the case. The screen gradient issues on the Voyage were never addressed in later production runs because it's a design flaw. Okay, cool, they'll fix it on the next model. Nope. The gradient issue is still present on the Oasis.
