I can't yell down that far, but I can hear it just about.
I still love my Echo like crazy. One of the best gadgets I ever got. After my kindles of course. The hands free is the best part of it for me.

But holy moly I got frustrated with the FireTV. Which really, was all my fault. I blame this Texas heat on frying my brain cells. Its so friggin hot
Anyway, I thought it was kaputt as Netflix looked like an LSD induced snowstorm. I thought the video part was not working, that was just on the main netflix page. I couldn't even see anything to click on.
But oh well, should have checked for updates first.

All good now.

But is there anything worse than having to authorize and type in emails with remotes a gazillion times every time one gets a new device? OMG, go there, sign in to tv provider, type this code, darn, wrong password. Ahhhhhhhh.

I am glad I can now prime play lists from my main TV/Stereo. I had one of those first cheap $19 Fire sticks and that thing locks up on everything. Can't even play music without skipping. Constantly lost internet connection.
I believe the current stick models are better than that very first one.
I have used a Roku 3 on this TV for some time and its great, just can't do prime songs on it. Plus I need it on the upstairs TV as the old Roku is about kaputt. I do miss the universal search from the ROku where it shows you exactly what app, what service something is available on.

I am probably done with the prime stuff, I got my FireTV, I got the $50 GC from amazon store card thanks to tubemonkey and I try not to just buy stuff.

Unless something pops up later, I got some nice deals. Oh, I also got a Vivofit the other day in the pre prime day which I love a lot.
I got the original Fire TV Stick when they first came out and paid $19 for it. It wasn't worth 2 cents though. A total piece of junk. I had to unplug it everytime I was through using it else I could not switch the TV input back to cable service. No other set top box has ever done that to my TV. And like you said, the Stick just didn't work well at all. I've also got the Amazon Prime app built into a Vizio smart TV in my study, and that is just as worthless as the Stick. It never shows video in HD, only SDTV resolution, so major fail. The Fire TV box though is really good.

I've been saying "Alexa" when I use the remote with my Fire TV. I didn't realize you could use it without saying "Alexa", but I see how that makes sense since I have to push a button to activate it. I'll stop saying "Alexa" to it now that I know that. Thanks for the info.

I only bought the Echo today. I briefly browsed a few other categories but didn't really need or want anything that was on sale.
