I stand corrected.

I have seen the two serials. Superman (Superman vs. the Spider lady) in 1948 and Atom man vs. Superman (1950). They showed the complete serials on AMC some yrs back. Now days they probably seem quaint but at the time they were probably quite a big draw for kids when they went to the movies on Saturday afternoon. She was also in Superman (1978) as the mother of Lois Lane. In one scene a young Clark Kent runs faster than the train that young Lois and her parents are riding on. Kirk Alyn who played Superman in the serials was also in the movie according to IMDB. Phyllis Coates is still with us apparently. Probably one of the few from the series who is. She's 89.
