Yes, you need to use the proper wiki server. There was an issue over at Github that was resolved by making some accommodation so that the server was automatically selected, based on the system language set or maybe it was the language of the book. Perhaps that is not working as you would like and you need "to edit wiki_server manually in wikipedia.lua", as you say.

The frontlight mod might very well work on other Kobo devices, as well.

P.S.; be sure and use an editor like Notepad++ that can do Linux type line endings.
