Even living out in the country, when power went out, we had kerosene stoves for heat and melting snow for water to flush the toilet, camping stoves and propane for cooking, and plenty of canned food.

Now, had my husband been one of the crews that had to go out in that mess to try and restore power, or on the sheriffs deptartment, or hospital personnel, It wouldn't have been fun.

I will always remember the utility crews working 24/7 to restore power. The sheriffs delivering meds to older people who needed them and couldn't get out.
I totally love snow days when I don't have to do anything. My heart goes out to those who do have to drive around in bad weather though.
