Whenever a new instalment in one of my favourite series comes out, I like to "get into the mood" by re-reading the earlier books.
In the case of Wheel of Time, that was 13 books. For the Dresden Files, it is 15 so far.
A Song of Ice and Fire (if a new book ever will come out) does not have so many books, but lots of more pages....
