The Sigil Preferences Appearance pull down for CodeView Fonts nicely showed Liberation Mono and I was easily able to add it (it is Sans and mono-spaced) and the preferences stayed. So there is nothing wrong with Sigil as long as you have properly added the fonts to your system so that Sigil can find them and the fonts are properly created and advertise their style upon query.

Yeah, I'm inclined to think it's more of a Windows (I'm using Win7) problem than Sigil. I haven't encountered it in OSX (yet). That said, I did not experience it in 0.8.x and the fonts show up in other editors/apps with no problems. Well it's kinda annoying but not a deal-breaker.
