A simpler method of accessing the initial jailbreak is described here:

Which must be followed by the installation of the 'hotfix' package described here:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...postcount=1597
to complete the installation of the initial jailbreak.
Without doing this second part, your new jailbreak will not be able to survive Amazon firmware updates.
