That's what I thought. Just curious, really. I'd heard something similar with regard to Supreme Court Justice appointments and was wondering why people even thought to suggest such a thing--let alone why anyone would actually entertain the idea of yielding that right.
"Please don't exercise your rare right mainly because we don't like you; and we think it would be a nice gesture on your part to accommodate this request (a request that we ourselves, of course, would never agree to in a million years). Thanks."
