I filled in the price match page, and this afternoon received my refund of $4.45 ($3.86 was the difference between what I paid and the Google price, plus $0.59 for the 10% of what I paid).
Since my refund was $4.45, I technically paid $1.40 for the book instead of getting it at Google for $1.99, so that works well for me! I don't mind getting it back as a store credit, since I always spend too much at Kobo anyway.
Wonderful service, and excellent turn around time on the refund, I was very pleased!

This is how I expected it to work. tdanzie's credit was based on the price before coupon.

Cinderella and the Ghost by Marina Myles
Kindle price $3.03
Kobo price $3.59(VIP) -30% = $2.51
