It can be overridden for individual authors via the Manage Authors feature. The Author Link field can hold any valid URI, not just web address URLs, file system URIs (eg to a separate author folder, the contents of which are what ever you put in the folder -- images, obituary links, publisher links, etc). I put links to Evernote Notes in there, see ==>> Calibre and Evernote
Similarly I have Notes in Evernote that are specific to a book, I put the link into a custom column column (long text like comments) called Book Notes that I display in Book Details above Comments. I don't have many of these and they are linked within Evernote to the relevant Author notes.
If I wanted to have Series notes (I don't read many series) then I would probably create an Evernote note for the Series that would be referenced from the Authors' Evernote note, Actually in that case, I would consider using OneNote rather than Evernote because internote linking is 'easier done' in OneNote than it is in Evernote.
That (swap EverNote for OneNote for calibre related purposes) has been on my mind for a while - but so far the cost of doing the change exceeds the cost of continuing withn Evernote - time and effort wise - no direct costs as I already have EN and ON.

Great Alternative...
i dont know why calibre doesnt put the author info on the database itself,
before, i use comment to do it to put info of the book and below was the author and reading order, but it look painful to do it to all the book, and i just using one book as reference to do it. So i just put the info in one book or the first series to keep the reading order fix,
I will try your suggestion..
How about the series that still on going and i dont want to lose track of it?
and i dont want to see the other books that have completed series. Instead creating Reading List or Virtual Library of the empty book, maybe samehow i can insert author name, and sync to anysite, and then its auto updating info when the new book was arrived or published so it will notify me.
now, i just use goodreads to follow the author and the author sites feed to my book feeds email to do that.
