As far as I am concerned, anything that comes up with the option of free Prime next day (or same day) delivery is fine to have as a single order, otherwise what's the point of having Prime?

I totally agree. I order plenty of single item orders and have never had an issue. I certainly never feel like I'm abusing Amazon by doing this. If Amazon wants to stipulate that an order requires more money spent to ship it, obviously that's up to them. However, if they don't make a stipulation, I can't see the problem.

I really don't think there is any rhyme or reason to it. Tonight I ordered a very lightweight pencil sharpener for $6.00 and I didn't have to add anything else to the order to get Prime shipping.
