You'll need to patch the firmware, which is a very easy process. See
this thread for the highlights of what the patch does, and use the link to the firmware you have.
This is a sample of what my epub pages look like and how far down the text lines will go patch. I'm still using 3.18 firmware.

. Btw, the glare in the lower right of my screen is from the overhead lights bounced off a mirror, it's not a screen defect or uneven coloring at all. In fact, it wasn't even noticeable until I took the picture, something only the camera picked up.
