Let me count the ways that I've wasted my money on tube after tube after TUBE of various and sundry petrolatum products.
They loved and begged for the ORIGINAL Hartz (I think I mean Hartz) formulation. When Hartz changed it, and caused a huge kerfuffle all over the net, Hartz then changed it again, claiming that they'd changed it back to the original formulation, but they didn't. They simply lied. My cats won't touch that, either. I have about one-half-of-a-fingertip's worth, of the original-original here, which I'm hanging on to, mostly so I can compare what's in the formulations. It's a frustrating search.
The female actually doesn't need it. She obviously passes her (lighter-than-air) soft flat coat through the other end. But my male...oy vey, as my friends would say. He loved the Hartz, and now...nada, zip, zein, zilch, no-way. Not that, nor the Laxatone, nor anything else I've tried. He does like Coconut Oil, but he can't have wet food (in which I could mix it), because that, for whatever reason, doesn't even stay in his stomach long enough to start to digest. He east wet food, and it comes right back up. <sigh>

Could you just put some in either a bowl and let him lap it up or put some in a syringe and squirt it down his throat?
Or is he one of those that needs a straight jacket to get medicine down?
