heh, actually it's "buttes chaumont". "butte" means a hill, and chaumont comes from "chauve" (bald) and "mont" (mountain), because the buttes chaumont is actually completely artificial hills formed from all the rubble they dug out when they were excavating to build the city (there are a lot of quarries in the neighborhood, and a lot of streets have names in relation). big bald piles of rock with no vegetation on them... could have been really ugly... so instead they turned it into a park. now it's really nice.
