I have one and, though it is slow by today's standards -- it's not unusable. The fonts and screen don't seem that bad to me.

But if I wanted a non-touch eReader I would be much more inclined to go with a Kindle 4 NT -- much faster, more features and more and clearer fonts. Of course, that's assuming your not specifically looking for an ePub Reader.
