I agonized over buying an ebook reader or a tablet
I was very attracted to the kindle readers, and not so much to the Kindle Fire tablets.
However I found a great deal on a pretty generic Lenovo android tablet and bluetooth keyboard combination, and couldn't be happier with my selection. It is much more versatile than a reader, and offers me not only the complete Kindle experience but allows me to also tap into the various ePub vendors as well. That's a big plus.
As far as the screen burning out my eyes, these things just aren't powerful enough to do that. Though I do reverse the image to White text on black background in a darkened room.
