The CC setting Settings / Grouping Drawer / Show empty values in groups controls whether the <<>> value appears in the grouping drawer. A question from a user and also my ruminations cause me to wonder whether I am interpreting that check box correctly.
Currently, no matter what the value of the check box, tapping on a group in the grouping drawer shows all books regardless of whether or not the book has a value for that group. It seems to me that if the option is unchecked then tapping on the group should show only books that have a value for that group.
Example:
- If the box is checked, then tapping on Series will show all books regardless of whether or not they have a series. This is consistent with showing the <<>> line in the grouping drawer permitting selection or restriction of books without a series. To see only books with a series you must long-press on the <<>> line and select not-matching.
- If the box is unchecked and if I make the changes, then tapping on Series would show only books that have a series. The <<>> line would be hidden.
Any comments?
And yes, I might not be clear, in which case feel free to let me know.
Bear in mind that changing this would be a rather significant functional change for CC, something that makes me nervous.
