Thanks for the kind words. Well now I'm going for a clean slate approach as I have everything in Calibre anyway. I've formatted the card, I'll repopulate it step by step and see how it goes.

At least I'm lucky in that I just finished a book yesterday evening and haven't started the next one yet.
Some news: All went well until I had put back the last batch of epubs from calibre. I had checked 2 or 3 times during the copying process that it went well and it did but the last time, when I had copied the last missing epubs, I had the same Critical Error like before.

Either 3.17 doesn't like one or more of my epub or it's the quantity that upsets it.
