And the book was excellent. Most enjoyable, especially being able to compare with the TV adaption, which was surprisingly faithful (with the usual reduction in the number of subsidiary characters). The TV series covers more than this first book. I shall certainly read the rest, but I shall spread them out a bit.
After Poldark I read
The Wilful Princess and the Piebald Prince by Robin Hobb. A most enjoyable backstory to the later Six Duchies stories.
And now I'll read
Dodger by Terry Pratchett .
