It entirely depends on the needs of the person and whether it would save them money. I've thought about it before and came to the conclusion that I wasn't the target market.

The thing about an emergency is, obviously, that you don't know when one will arise. Prime saved me at least $15 in shipping on this one order, in addition to saving me a lot of time and aggravation.
I noticed recently that the Amazon store credit card offers extra perks for Prime members: 5% statement credit (otherwise 3%) on all purchases, or no-interest financing on purchases over a certain amount.
