I'm afraid you're quite incorrect. Not only can accounts be merged, it's actually a simple process. You go to the help page (https://kobo.frontlinesvc.com/app/lanpag) and select your country. Under "What category does your issue fall under?" select "Accounts". From the sub-selection select "Library Merge Request". Than be sure to specify which account you want to be your single account, and which you want merged into it. Submit, and it is generally done within 1-2 business days. I had all three of my Kobo accounts merged together.
