As a general comment about the difficulties I've had trying to read the Fussell book (annotations bug causing book to stop dead and then return to home page 'finished', and unable to press notes), how does the ordinary reader who isn't a member of MR and who has no knowledge of html or CSS go about enjoying the book?
If I didn't have access to all your brains and skills I would've been screaming out of frustration that I'd bought a Kobo (epub) book and couldn't finish reading it because it locked me out.
I think the way forward for Kobo re accessing the notes is to use standard text font and enclose the numbers in []. That way they're very accessible.
But the annotations bug has been going for some time, and only now does it look like one of the MR members (davidfor) will identify the solution. Not Kobo, but davidfor. (onya david
