I don't get this. It tries its best, true, but it fails: you can use MRPI which is probably even better, and all the user has to do is simply place the bin in another directory and the launch at his will.
Better yet: I would possibly agree on a reason NOT TO UPDATE. But once you did update, since you can install your hacks anyway using MRPI, that is no reason to go back - expecially because that's way more complicate than install new packages.

Indeed a reason could have been "It is evil because I cannot run/install app XYZ on fw 5.6.1", that was something I was expecting from OP. But then again, I was willing to know which hack, exactly, was not working in 5.6.1
