Actually all jesting aside it was from "The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Knots and Ropework". A book that has come in mighty handy over the years in spite of its questionably over confident title.
Without elaborating on the background story- Last year I managed to tie a Christmas tree to the top of a friends jeeps so securely that when we arrived at our destination it took three fellows with knives a half hour to free it.
Meanwhile I was smugly inside drinking hot coco. Ah, the holidays.
