I returned my voyage, but it froze a couple more times before I did. Same as you, mainly when performing certain functions. Highlighting, in my case. I found it to be unusual as my kindles in the past rarely froze at all. I'm not sure if an upgrade is coming soon, but hopefully it will be resolved then.
You might want to give Amazon a call about it and record the issue with them.
