What do you mean "in some ways we aren't normally aware of"?

Vision and perception vary widely, not just in terms of quality of an individual's eyesight, so I'd say its pretty normal that 10 people looking at one single voyage screen will have different views on how it looks. Even more so when its from an image posted online in this forum, because that introduces differences from whatever device people are viewing the forum on into the mix too.

Varying sensitivity to light and colour is pretty commonplace, and when you consider that even without the light some people don't like the PW screen (they see the text being behind a glass on the PW and therefore prefer the older basic Kindle or Kindle Keyboard screen), its easy to appreciate that people do see things very differently.
