I bought my first PW1 as soon as they were available, although I don't recall the month. I didn't pre-order. I waited till I could get one the next day and then I ordered it immediately. It was perfect.
I ordered another one with 3G and it was perfect as well. That was about a month or two later.
The only bad one I ever got was my first PW2, which I pre-ordered with 3G. When it arrived the 3G didn't work and they overnighted a replacement, also perfect.
Maybe I've just been lucky or maybe my old eyes just don't see the problems but I've had good luck with them.
I was waiting to see if I want to buy a Voyage but all these reports have been scaring me. Now that I'm seeing pictures of the problems I may decide to go ahead and order one. They look fine to me.
I think there might be a lesson in all this if someone studied the phenomenon. It would be nice to know if human vision or perception varies in some ways we aren't normally aware of or if this is a form of mass hysteria. And I'm not saying that to be snarky. I'm really puzzled about this.
