They never seem to carry them. It's disappointing. The only US bricks and mortar stores I recall seeing them in were the old Borders many years back when Kobo first started making e-readers. Although I think they used to carry the Aura or the Glo at Best Buy in the US, but I'm not certain.

Oh yes, I should have specified Best Buy's in the US. I do know they have them at Best Buys in Canada.
