Unfortunately, Kobos are quite hard to find in stores here in the US. Sometimes you can find them in some of the smaller independent book stores, but not very often. My husband ordered my AuraHD for me (was a birthday present) sight unseen because it impossible to find any stores that carried them where we could go test them out.

Regarding the difference between the carta and pearl screens. I have a KPW2 with the carta screen and my Aura HD has a pearl screen. To be honest, I don't really notice much of a difference. Both are very good screens.
